Stepan Specialty Products is a global manufacturer of specialty and intermediate chemicals used in consumer products and industrial applications. Stepan is a leading merchant producer of surfactants, which are key ingredients in polyester resin systems and consumer and industrial cleaning compounds.

Stepan produces other specialty products including flavors, emulsifiers and solubilizers used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, and mold release/antistat agents. Stepan acquired Lipid Nutrition in 2011, which has added additional breadth to their food portfolio. These main product lines include Neobee and Wecobee Triglycerides, Zelec and Merpol Alcohol Phosphates/Ethoxylates, and now also include Clarinol™ and PinnoThin™. Stepan is headquartered in Northfield, Illinois and utilizes a network of modern production facilities located in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

Neobee and Wecobee Triglycerides


	Neobee® and Wecobee® Triglycerides are food grade triglycerides that have been used in nutritional products for over forty years. Unlike typical long chain fats that travel through the body's lymphatic system, they are transported directly to the liver where they are preferentially burned for energy. Neobee® caprylic triglycerides can serve as a source of fat in a variety of nutritional products, clouding agent in beverages, carrier for flavors, and mineral oil alternative. Neobee® provides excellent oxidative stability, is less caloric than conventional fats and does not contain trans fatty acids. Wecobee® triglyceride blends of vegetable oils become solid fats at room temperature. Wecobee® can be used as a cocoa butter replacement for confectionary coatings, in dairy toppings and in baked goods. 	Zelec and Merpol Alcohol Phosphates/Ethoxylates are surfactants used in various polyester resin molding operations. These products are in liquid form, allowing for continuous production processes such as prepregging and pultrusion. Neutralized grades are available for customers concerned about the acidity effect on their equipment. Zelec and Merpol Alcohol Phosphates/Ethoxylates are a high-value additive used in various molding operations. Their principal function is to act as an internal mold release, antistat, or wetting agent. They yield cleaner molds, and some grades can also improve the surface appearance of finished parts. Clarinol CLA Conjugated Linoleic Acid


	The Clarinol CLA Conjugated Linoleic Acid product line consists of the products Clarinol CLA and PinnoThin Pinolenic Acid. Clarinol CLA works on many of the enzymes involved in fat metabolism, and helps reduce body fat, improve body composition, and increase lean muscle mass. PinnoThin Pinolenic Acid stimulates the release of two hunger-suppressing peptide hormones, CCK (cholecystokinin) and GLP1 (glucagon-like peptide 1).
