Financial Service Specialist - Accounts Payable

Our Financial Services Specialists (Accounts Payable) will work within the Finance department, processing payables invoices in accordance with approved processes.  Financial Service Specialists support vendor/supplier relationships by appropriately communicating variances and questions.  Daily tasks include managing dropship processes, identifying missing invoices, and working with vendor contacts to resolve discrepancies.  Financial Services Specialists report to the Financial Service Analyst and works closely with  other Finance team members.  

IN YOUR NEW CAREER YOU WILL

  • Complete accounting activities in assigned area (Accounts Payable) including
    • Notify teams of aging invoices in API system
    • Hold team members accountable for processing invoices in timely manner and escalate as needed
    • Track dropship orders
    • Request invoices from vendors
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
    • Monthly accruals and provisions (expense accruals, bad debt provisions, pre-paid amortization)
  • Create, modify and document accounting tasks and processes.
  • Research and communicate status of past due amounts to suppliers and resolves discrepancy as needed.
  • Assist in month end closing process by tracking warehouse, professional services, and dropship accruals.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Supply Chain Services, Product Managers, Credit/Collections and Customer Solutions teams for product variance and actively participates in continuous improvement efforts for all accounting processes.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel knowledge.
  • High level of technical aptitude.
  • Ability to work through complex problems with little guidance.
  • Proactive, positive team player with strong organizational skills and ability to handle diverse and significant workload.
  • Flexible to change with ability to analyze and solve problems, multitask, and meet required deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with great attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Receptive to evaluation and coaching.
