Enhancing Performance & Protection

Eastman Cellulose Esters (CABs and CAPs) have been used for decades in wood coatings as binders, coating additives, film formers and rheology modifiers.

Cellulose Esters enhance appearance, performance and protection capabilities of wood coatings and finishes. They are used as co-resin or additive to provide benefits to 2K PU/acrylics, acid-cured and UV-cured formulations.

Eastman Solus™ performance additives are the newest Cellulose Esters designed for high-solids solvent-borne systems to meet lower VOC levels. Solus™ 2100 is compatible with alkyd resins often used in wood coatings and outperforms nitrocellulose to reduce yellowing.

EASTMAN CELLULOSE ESTERS BENEFITS

  • Fast drying and hardening
  • Non-yellowing when exposed to UV light
  • Perfect balance of viscosity and solids content
