Calumet Penreco is a leading producer and marketer of specialty products for many industries including cosmetics, hair and skin care, candle making, pharmaceuticals, textiles, home care, and others. The company also offers specialty hydrocarbon products including white mineral oils, petrolatums, and specialty solvents that are used in numerous consumer and industrial applications.

Calumet Penreco was established in 1973 when the Pennsylvania Refining Company became the Penreco Division of Pennzoil Company. Today, Calumet Penreco is jointly owned by ConocoPhillips, which holds a 50 percent stake in the company. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA, Penreco markets their innovative products in more than 50 countries and employs more than 350 people.

Penreco’s portfolio of unique specialty chemicals includes high-purity specialty hydrocarbon fluids, natural petrolatum sulfonates, cable-filling compounds, refrigeration oils, food-grade compressor lubricants, and gelled products. Versagel C Candle Gel


	Versagel C Candle Gel products are pre-mixed, easy-to-use gelling hydrocarbons that provide a unique appearance for clear gel candles and aromatherapy applications. They are manufactured from a specially selected and processed mineral oil and are gelled with copolymers that give them a clear rubbery texture. Unlike waxes that go through melting transitions at specific temperatures, Versagel C Candle Gel products decrease in viscosity as they are heated. Versagel C patented gels allow for exceptionally clear candles with excellent fragrance release while providing strong decorative suspensions properties and longevity. In addition, certain Versagel grades can be made into a free-standing form. Calumet Penreco utilizes the only patented block copolymer technology in the candle market today.
