SURFACTANT IRRITATION POTENTIAL
Benecel™ polymer products help to reduce the irritation potential of surfactant systems used for hair and skin formulations. A material or formulation with a zeta potential of zero should be non-irritating to the skin. The goal is to move the base surfactant system as close to zero as possible to reduce the irritation potential. This can be seen in the increase of the zeta potential of the system when comparing the formulation with Benecel™ polymer versus the one without.BOTH E4M AND E50 REDUCE IRRITATION POTENTIAL IN SULFATE BASED SYSTEMS

IMPROVED FOAM QUALITY
In addition to thickening, Benecel™ polymers exhibit surface activity that results in enhanced foam properties such as creaminess and foam stability. When used in skin cleansers, they improve the in-use feel as well as the after-feel.

A creamier foam texture, as determined by the smaller bubble size, was seen with the addition of 0.2% of both Benecel™ polymers.
