INCI Cellulose Gum
Aqualon™ cellulose gum is an anionic, water-soluble polymer commonly used to thicken the paste, bind water for prevention of syneresis, and impart desirable flow properties to dentrifice formulations. In ointments and creams, it can stabilize, thicken, and form films. It is a high-strength binder for tablets and granulation aids. Additionally, it acts as a thickener, gelling agent, protective colloid, and film former in jellies and salves.
Aqualon™ CMC 7LXF Pharma meets the FCC monograph requirements for cellulose gum (sodium carboxymethylcellulose) and for carboxymethylcellulose sodium per the National Formulary (NF), European Pharmacopoeia (EP), and Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP).
