Dermostatyl™ IS is a skin-lightening peptide that acts as an antagonist to a-MSH. The binding of a-MSH to its receptors mediates skin pigmentation. It competes for a-MSH binding to its receptors, thereby decreasing melanin synthesis. Dermostatyl™ IS induces a decrease in the melanin content in epidermal cells.
