Lattice® NT-50
Lattice® NT-50 is a microcrystalline cellulose powder with an average particle size of 50 µm. It is used as a dry binder in industrial tableting and ceramics.
Lattice® NT-50 is a binder-grade microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) powder produced by the acid hydrolysis of wood pulp. It is an excellent dry binder for industrial tablet formulations made by direct compression or dry granulation. In wet granulation processes, Lattice® NT-50 acts as a process aid to control granule particle size. In these applications, the recommended use level is 20%–50% by weight of the final product. Lattice® NT-50 exists as a dry powder with an average particle size of 50 µm and is recommended for use with components of similar particle size to avoid segregation.
Lattice® NT-50 is also EPA exempt and has disintegrating properties that make it useful as an adjuvant in agricultural chemical tablets, extrudates, and water-dispersible granules when used in a range of 5–20 wt%. In ceramics, Lattice® NT-50 is used as a temporary binder that burns out with minimal ash residue. Typical use levels are 5%–20% in this application.
Lattice® NT-50 microcrystalline cellulose is only approved for industrial, nonfood, and nonpharmaceutical use.
