SilGrip™ PSA595
SilGrip™ PSA595 is a solvent-based, silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive that exhibits remarkable peel and shear strength at extreme temperatures.
SilGrip™ PSA595 is a silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive based on polysiloxane gum and resin in xylene. It can be used as supplied or thinned to the required viscosity using aromatic, aliphatic, or chlorinated solvents. SilGrip™ PSA595’s silicone chemistry makes it highly resistant to heat, moisture, weathering, chemicals, and biological attack. SilGrip™ PSA595 adheres to a wide variety of surfaces, including low–surface energy substrates, such as polyethylene, polyester, and silicone. It is most often applied to film or fabric using traditional tape coating methods to produce industrial tapes and labels with good peel and shear strength at temperatures up to 400°F.
Compared to other SilGrip™ pressure-sensitive adhesives, PSA595 is engineered to provide cleaner removal and better creep resistance. It also has moderate peel strength and high tack. Therefore, it is an ideal pressure-sensitive adhesive to manufacture repositionable tapes, such as electronic masking tapes used in assembling electronics. For example, when used in manufacturing printed circuit boards, it leaves behind minimal silicone residue and reduces necessary cleaning. Tapes and labels manufactured with SilGrip™ PSA595 can also be used in aerospace, automotive, medical, and any application that requires good adhesion in harsh conditions.
