July 1, 2021 – ChemPoint EMEA, B.V., (ChemPoint), a subsidiary of Univar Inc. (NYSE: UNVR)(“Univar”) and leader in the marketing, sales, and distribution of specialty and fine ingredients, has expanded its strategic relationship with International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) for Alginates, Carrageenan and Microcrystalline Cellulose. This agreement broadens ChemPoint's portfolio to cover the marketing and sales of IFF’s products in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Mexico. 

IFF’s alginates are naturally occurring, biodegradable polysaccharides extruded from brown seaweed under the brands Scogin® & Protaweld® which offer a set of unique properties including cold gelling, thickening and rheology modification, emulsion stabilization, binding, suspension aid, film forming and encapsulation for water treatment, welding rods, green packaging, paper, textile printing, paints, coatings, and inks. Moreover, IFF’s Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC) Lattice® is a functional fiber obtained from naturally occurring cellulose found in wood pulp and is used to prevent crystal growth formation, emulsion stabilization, suspension aid and thixotropic in electronics, paints and coatings, tablets, extruded products and for crop protection liquid concentrates.

This partnership extension authorizes ChemPoint to market, supply, and service North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Mexico with IFF’s products, including Methocel™, Ethocel™, Texturecel™, Polyox™, Antisol™ and others. ChemPoint will continue to provide the agility, digital expertise, and high service levels to enhance the overall experience of IFF’s customers.
