Susterra® propanediol is a pure, bio based, petroleum-free diol used performance to Polyurethanes, unsaturated polyester resins, heat transfer fluids, solar and geothermal systems, food-safe fluids, engine coolants and Deicing fluids.
Susterra® propanediol is a bio based building block used for a variety of applications.
For the manufacture of urethane, it is a great polyol or chain extender. Within polyurethane applications, it is effective for furniture and automotive (TPU elastomers, PU foams, Hot melt adhesives and PU synthetic leather); TPU Elastomers ( cast parts, molded and extruded TPUs, TPEs); Coatings (PUD coatings, coatings for eletronics, woods, concrete floors, synthetic leather skins coats); Adhesives (Construction, textile, tapes, solvent born); performance textiles (TPU waterproof breathable films, PU synthetic leather); Footwear (TPU elastomers, TPU waterproof breathable films, PU foams, Hot melt adhesives, PU synthetic leather)
Susterra® propanediol is also used as a glycol portion
in the manufacturing of unsaturated polyester resins of products used in construction, marine and automotive industry where manufacturers want
to increase the bio-based content in their resins.
At the same time, the propane-1,3-diol from Susterra® is a primary ingredient for the formulation of an effective heat transfer fluid that contains an enhanced thermal stability and a longer life in high heat applications and favorable viscosity property at low temperatures.
