Overview
Citroflex™ Citric Acid Esters are based on natural citric acid raw material, which is mainly derived from the fermentation of corn. They provide a wide range of benefits when used as plasticizers with aqueos and solvent-based polymers. Citroflex™ esters allow the formulator to control the characteristics of polymer systems to suit the needs of the finished product.

Regulatory and use restrictions of phthalate plasticiziers
Low performance of plasticizers in aqueous- and solvent-based polymers, including acrylics, cellulosics, vinyls, and urethane systems
Availability of ester additives in hydrophilic and lipophilic versions for formulation flexibility

High volatility and migration of phthalate and DEHP plasticizers in PVC formulations
Availability of organic and bio-based solvent carriers for use personal care products
Alternative for di-2-ethylhexyl adipate (DEHA) in food contact applications
