METHOCEL™ A4C Premium
METHOCEL™ A4C Premium is a medium–molecular weight methylcellulose thickener with a viscosity of 400 cPs at 2% in water.
METHOCEL™ A4C Premium is a water-soluble methylcellulose polymer with very high purity. This cellulose ether is used as a thickener, binder, and film former, where solutions containing METHOCEL™ A4C gain pseudoplastic rheology. These properties make it a perfect thickener for paints, coatings, and adhesives, allowing them to spread more easily, retain adhesion on vertical surfaces, and form films with high integrity. This grade also helps maintain stability in suspensions and emulsions to increase the storage life of the aforementioned products. METHOCEL™ A4C Premium will reversibly gel at temperatures above 55°C, making it an ideal binder for ceramics to boost green strength.
METHOCEL™ cellulose ethers have excellent stability in extreme pH and can provide viscosity control in both acidic and alkaline systems. A4C Premium can be used to optimize a wide range of product textures and handling, given its precise control of rheology, thus making it a useful ingredient in making formulations from theatrical props to test standard solutions.
