METHOCEL™ K200M Premium is a very high molecular weight hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) thickener. It will yield a viscosity of 200,000 cP at 2% in water.
METHOCEL™ K200M Premium is an HPMC thickener with moderate hydroxypropyl substitution.It is commonly used as a thickener, binder, and suspension aid in applications including adhesives and coatings.Solutions containing METHOCEL™ K200M are highly thixotropic and thus have good lubricity and are easy to spread. METHOCEL™ K200M has excellent pH stability in both acidic and alkaline systems allowing formulators more flexibility when modifying rheology.In addition, METHOCEL K200M in solution will reversibly gel at temperatures above 90°C.This provides a boost to green strength in ceramics and to adhesives that are heat cured.Due to it's high molecular weight METHOCEL™ K200M Premium is a cost efficient thickener for latex paints.Very small amounts of METHOCEL™ K200M can be used to precisely control the viscosity of water based architectural coatings and improve film durability, flow, leveling, and spread.
