TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA
TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA is a naturally derived, high-purity, high molecular weight carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) powder that is used as a binder for graphite lithium-ion battery anodes.
TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA is a high molecular weight sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) that contains significantly lower levels of gel impurities than many other commercially available CMC materials. Lower levels of gel impurities present in CMC binders that are used in anode coating formulations have been found to increase the overall energy density of the battery. Therefore, TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA is an extremely effective CMC binder material to use in anode slurries to manufacture lithium-ion batteries.
When TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA is used as a binder for graphite lithium-ion battery anodes, it can improve the specific discharge capacity of the battery during very high C-Rates, enhancing charging speed. Lithium-ion batteries made with TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA also see increased specific discharge capacity over multiple aging cycles, indicating that lithium-ion batteries made with TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA CMC binders have longer battery life. TEXTURECEL™ 30000 P BA has a degree of substitution of 0.9 and forms solutions with a viscosity of 3,000–4,000 mPa·s.S at 1 wt% addition to water.
