Midland, Michigan – June 1, 2012 – The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) today announced it has extended its relationship with ChemPoint.com, the leading e-distributor of specialty and fine chemicals, making ChemPoint the exclusive North American distributor of UCON™ Oil-Soluble Polyalkylene Glycols (OSPs). UCON™ OSPs are the latest innovation from Dow’s series of Lubricants and Fuel Additives products.
The UCON™ line of OSPs was launched in 2010, and is the first polyalkylene glycol (PAG)-based solution of its kind on the market.

The OSPs’ revolutionary chemistry retains the characteristics of traditional PAG technology, yet it is oil-soluble. As a result of this combination, OSPs can be used in a variety of applications as a base fluid or additive. They have thus far been used successfully in engine oils, metalworking fluids, gear lubricants, automotive friction modifiers and turbine oils. Additionally, OSPs can be combined with mineral oils to provide greater deposit control and exhibit oxidation stability, high viscosity index and low temperature stability.
