Clearlink® 1080 is a versatile aliphatic diamine chain extender compatible with various polyols, co-curatives, and other polyurethane chemicals. It can be applied using conventional spray techniques due to its low viscosity. It forms durable, UV-stable polyurethane and polyurea coatings when used with aliphatic isocyanates. When reacted with these aliphatic isocyanate groups, Clearlink® 1080 forms additional urea groups providing excellent strength and heat resistance. It is also recommended for color-critical aliphatic polyurea spray and hand-applied coatings as it provides excellent cure-rate control without altering the formulation color and exhibits low moisture sensitivity and slower reactivity. It is typically used in sprayed polyurea coatings at a recommended range of 5–10 wt%.
