CHDM is a intermediate that is commonly used as a glycol modifier for resins. Due to its hydrolytic stability to waterborne polyester resins, it is often used in durable polyester polyols for polyurethane coatings. Additionally, it offers good heat resistance and corrosion resistance in fiberglass-reinforced plastics.
