SYLOBLOC^® K200 is a synthetic amorphous silica antiblocking agent typically used in transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films. Being an antiblocking agent that is purposefully produced rather than mined, SYLOBLOC^® K200 has very high purity. It has one of the largest pore volumes among the SYLOBLOC^® series and has a relatively small particle size with narrow-particle-size distribution. It is recommended to be used for PET films that are slurry processed and less than 20 micrometers in thickness. Higher-pore-volume SYLOBLOC^® grades such as SYLOBLOC^® K200 provide excellent antiblocking activity when blended into plastic films due to their large surface area, which creates a microroughness on the film surface. It also helps provide a degree of slip to film surfaces. SYLOBLOC^® K200 has excellent optical properties that prevent it from interfering with the optical clarity or visual quality of polymer films. Typical applications for films using SYLOBLOC^® K200 include food packaging and electronic devices.
