SYLOBLOC® P05 is a silica antiblocking agent with low pore volume, an intermediate particle size, great optical properties, and easy dispersion in plastic films.
SYLOBLOC® P05 is a synthetic amorphous silica (silicon dioxide) antiblocking agent present as a free-flowing powder. Compared to other SYLOBLOC® antiblocking agents, SYLOBLOC® P05 has among the lowest pore volume and an intermediate particle size. The low pore volume enables SYLOBLOC® P05 to have the least difficulty in mixing into masterbatches and compounds. SYLOBLOC® P05 is ideal for single-layer films made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) that have thicknesses between 20 and 50 µm. Being manufactured amorphous silica, SYLOBLOC® P05 has very high purity, making it a highly efficient antiblocking agent at low concentrations that does not compromise the physical properties of plastic films. This benefit is pronounced especially when compared to crystalline minerals, such as talc and diatomite additives. SYLOBLOC® P05 is noncarcinogenic and possesses excellent optical properties, preventing it from creating haze in films produced by extrusion and preserving their visual quality and clarity. This antiblocking aid is typically used in films that create food packaging and does not impart a significant degree of abrasiveness.
