SYLOBLOC^® S200 is a synthetic amorphous silica (silicon dioxide) antiblocking agent offered as a free-flowing powder that consists of silica with intermediate pore volume and a relatively small particle size. SYLOBLOC^® S200 provides easy dispersion in compounds and masterbatches used in a highly diverse range of films, including LLDPE, BOPP, IPP, polyamide, and polyester films. SYLOBLOC^® S200 is an ideal antiblocking agent for transparent films because it possesses excellent optical properties that preserve the clarity and visual quality of films. SYLOBLOC^® S200, like other SYLOBLOC^® silicas, is produced to tight specifications that leave it with a very low impurity count, which is needed for it to be extremely effective in preventing blocking with low use rates. In addition to its main use as an antiblocking agent, SYLOBLOC^® S200 helps improve slip characteristics on film. As SYLOBLOC^® S200 has a relatively small particle size, it is widely used in films that are less than 20 µm thick. Films that use SYLOBLOC^® S200 are commonly used for food packaging but can be used in agricultural and industrial applications as well.
