Overview
TEXTURECEL™ 100 PA is a water soluble, high purity, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) powder. It can be used to as a thickener and binder in water based formulations. TEXTURECEL™ 100 PA has a relatively low molecular weight and produces aqueous solutions with a viscosity of 100 cP when added to water at 2% by weight. TEXTURECEL™ 100 PA is often used as a temporary binder in ceramics to improve green strength prior to firing when it is burnt out. TEXTURECEL™ 100 PA is also used to adjust viscosity of water-based coatings and inks and stabilize water based emulsions. It provides a slightly thixotropic rheology to to aqueous formulations allowing them to be spread easily.
