CoatOSil™ 2059 is a silicone-based additive that provides excellent resistance to water and oil. It is an ideal PFAS-based repellent replacement in water-based sealers.
CoatOSil™ 2059 is a silicone-emulsion-based additive used as a repelling agent to greatly improve resistance to water, oil, and stains in water-based sealer and coating formulations. It is formulated without APEOs and is an ideal replacement for fluorinated polymers or polymers based on PFAS, where it achieves comparable repellency while maintaining breathability in films for water transmission through sealed materials. CoatOSil™ 2059 provides excellent resistance to many household fluids and condiments, including water, vegetable oil, ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, wine, and vinegar. In most cases, it exceeds the water-repelling performance of PFAS-based repellents by achieving water beading within two minutes of application. Sealers containing CoatOSil™ 2059 may be applied to various types of substrates, including concrete, fibrous cement, natural stone, plasters, and bricks. It may also be applied to textiles and fabrics. This product is not recommended for outdoor applications due to the presence of amino groups.
