CoatOSil™ 7001 is a silicone-based additive designed to improve flow and leveling properties in solvent-based, two-component (2K) acrylic polyol coatings cured using isocyanates. It is an ideal replacement for PFAS-containing additives.
CoatOSil™ 7001 is a silicone–polyether block copolymer additive that significantly improves the appearance of solventborne, two-component acrylic polyol coatings. It achieves this by enhancing flow and leveling properties when added to the polyol resin component of two-component-system formulations. This helps improve the distinctness of image that is critical to the perceived quality of coatings such as clearcoats and topcoats. CoatOSil™ 7001 also helps enhance the clarity of films and the ease of coalescence during film formation. Typical use rates of CoatOSil™ 7001 range from 0.05 to 0.10 wt%, making it an extremely effective additive at low concentrations. The flow and leveling properties that CoatOSil™ 7001 boosts help it replace fluorosurfactants and other PFAS-containing additives that achieve similar properties in coating systems.
