Overview
Armolube® AW 104 is an alcohol ethoxylate phosphate ester chemical surfactant recommended for the formulation of metal working fluids, hydraulic fluids, cutting fluids, and other industrial fluids. It is ashless and biodegradable and has excellent stability in the presence of alkaline, acidic, and electrolyte solutions, allowing for formulation flexibility and easy dispersion with low-foaming properties. Armolube® AW 104 provides excellent anti-wear benefits, protecting metal parts from premature wear and failure. It also enhances extreme-pressure performance for demanding applications. It also offers excellent compatibility with various systems and metal types, preventing corrosion of ferrous, copper, and aluminum metals.

Problems Solved
In metalworking operations, insufficient lubrication and excessive friction cause wear and damage to machinery and metal components, impacting performance and part quality. Metalworking fluid formulators require effective anti-wear and extreme-pressure additives, but common solutions like sulfur-based chemistries can cause corrosion and staining of certain metals. Foam is another concern, as surfactants with high-foaming tendencies can negatively impact the fluid's final performance, particularly in high-speed applications.
