In metalworking operations, insufficient lubrication and excessive friction cause wear and damage to machinery and metal components, impacting performance and part quality. Metalworking fluid formulators require effective anti-wear and extreme-pressure additives, but common solutions like sulfur-based chemistries can cause corrosion and staining of certain metals.
