The FASCAT® 4400 catalyst, anhydrous tin tetrachloride (stannic chloride), is employed as a Lewis acid catalyst in a diverse range of applications. FASCAT® 4400 is used in the process of chloromethylation and the reaction of epichlorohydrin with alcohols to produce glycidyl ethers.
