The FASCAT® 9100 catalyst, butylstannoic acid, is a solid with a white color and an amorphous structure.
The FASCAT® 9100 catalyst is widely used in manufacturing saturated polyester resins, which find application in powder coatings and coil coatings. This grade has various applications for producing unsaturated polyester resins for gel coating, sheet molding, and cast molding. Additionally, this can be utilized in the production of polymeric plasticizers. FASCAT® 9100 is a highly reliable catalyst that maintains its stability, even in the presence of water. It exhibits excellent activity, even at low loadings. This grade is primarily utilized to facilitate esterification and polycondensation reactions within a temperature range of 210°C to 240°C. The FASCAT® 9100 catalyst starts to dissolve in carboxylic acid at 80°C during the reaction. It then becomes part of the final product without any impact on its quality. The FASCAT® 9100 catalyst is suitable for use at temperatures up to 250°C. It has a neutral and noncorrosive nature.
