Overview
Protaweld® TX120RB is a highly thixotropic alginate polymer added to welding rod coatings to improve extrusion efficiency. The thixotropic nature of welding rod coatings containing Protaweld® TX120RB increases the production capacity of welding electrodes without increasing extrusion pressure.
In addition, Protaweld® TX120RB allows for thicker and more homogeneous electrode coatings to be applied to metal welding rod cores due to the high green bond strength it imparts. The Protaweld® TX120RB alginate also binds extremely well to water and retains moisture in coverage paste, allowing for better body and easy viscosity adjustment prior to coating. This also helps to improve the plasticity of the coating and reduces the chances of cracking during welding.
