TEXTURECEL™ 2000 PA
TEXTURECEL™ 2000 PA is a low molecular weight, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose polymer that is used as a binder in lithium ion battery electrodes.
TEXTURECEL™ 2000 PA is a high purity sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). It has a relatively low molecular weight and produces solutions with a viscosity of 2000 cP at 2% weight in water. TEXTURECEL™ CRT 2000 PA is used as a rheology modifier for water borne coating, ink, and adhesive formulations. TEXTURECEL™ CRT 2000 PA is also used as a binder in ceramic applications to improve the green strength of formed ceramic parts. This helps to reduce defects and improves efficiency. In lithium ion battery anodes, TEXTURECEL™ CRT 2000 PA is used as a binder for active and conductive material. It has an extremely high purity and its water soluble nature makes TEXTURECEL™ CRT 2000 PA a safer more environmentally friendly binder than traditional solvent soluble fluoropolymers.
Excellent viscosifier; reversible viscosity decrease upon heating
Stable in a wide pH-range (pH 3.5 – 12)
Compatible with nearly all other hydrocolloids
No odor and no taste
Forming fat, oil and organic solvent resistant films
Problems Solved
Poor cohesive strength of unfired ceramics Sagging of adhesives applied to vertical and overhead surfaces Hazardous solvents needed for lithium ion battery electrode production High cost of fluoropolymer binders
Applications
Coatings; Inks; Adhesives; Ceramics; Lithium Ion Battery Electrodes
