Dimethylacetamide from Belle Chemical Company is the only domestically produced DMAc chemical in North America. DMAc or N-dimethylacetamide is a polar, colorless, high flashpoint, hygroscopic liquid solvent for use with a wide range of organic and inorganic compounds.
Belle Chemical Dimethylacetamide or DMAc (CAS# 127-19-5) is a water-white industrial polar solvent with a high flashpoint and miscibility with water, ketones, esters, ethers, and aromatics. The solvent is manufactured by the reaction of dimethyl amines aliphatic compounds with carboxylic acids producing a highly effective solvent for a wide range of organic and inorganic compounds. The acetamide dipolar aprotic solvent properties and its good thermal and chemical stability make it a widely used solvent for many industrial applications and organic reactions.
Belle Chemical DMAc is produced in Belle West Virginia at the Dupont product facility. At the start of 2020 Corner Stone Chemical created Belle Chemical Company after the acquisition of the Chemours/Dupont dedicated production facility for acid esterification and manufacturing of amides and methylamine chemicals. All specifications, equipment, and production methods have been maintained to ensure an uninterrupted supply of domestically sourced and produced DMAc.
