DOWFROST™ LC 25% is a pre-diluted PG25 (25% propylene glycol) heat transfer fluid engineered for datacom equipment cooling system (DECS) loops, including CDU and direct-to-chip (DTC) cooling architectures in data centers. It is dyed fluorescent yellow-green for easier leak detection and is designed to support heat removal, corrosion protection, and stable operation in liquid-cooled electronics loops.
Data center cooling has changed. Higher rack densities and direct-to-chip (DTC) loops have pushed many facilities toward rack-level liquid cooling systems that rely on a CDU to circulate coolant through cold plates and heat exchangers.
DOWFROST™ LC 25% (often searched as PG25, PG 25, or PG25 coolant) is a specially formulated inhibited propylene glycol based thermal fluid for use in DECS loops. It is a prediluted 25% propylene glycol solution in water with a purpose-built corrosion inhibitor package designed to help protect system metals while maintaining reliable heat transfer performance.
For data center engineers and mechanical contractors, the job-to-be-done is straightforward: keep the loop stable and predictable through commissioning, steady-state operation, and maintenance, without introducing corrosion risk, avoidable downtime, or hard-to-troubleshoot leaks. DOWFROST™ LC 25% is positioned for DTC and close-coupled cooling systems where material compatibility, serviceability, and consistent fluid quality matter.
And if you're looking for a primary cooling loop solution for the entire data center building, consider DOWFROST™ HD.

Primary Chemistry:
Propylene Glycol (PG25)
CDU and direct-to-chip loops that need a purpose-built PG25 coolant rather than a general HVAC glycol approach
Corrosion risk in mixed-metal loops and high copper surface area components (cold plates, manifolds, heat exchangers)
Temperature control challenges in high-density environments where air cooling alone cannot maintain predictable component temperatures
Leak troubleshooting delays in dense mechanical rooms and in-rack plumbing, where fluorescent dye speeds detection
Field variability caused by inconsistent glycol quality that can create commissioning issues and unstable loop performance
DOWFROST™ LC 25% inhibited propylene glycol can be successfully used in a wide range of equipment and facility types, including but not limited to the following:
Direct-to-chip (DTC) liquid cooling systems (cold plates + CDU)
Datacom equipment cooling system (DECS) loops
CDU secondary loops connected to heat exchangers and facility water loops
In-rack and close-coupled cooling architectures
Liquid-cooled electronics thermal management loops in high-density data centers
