TEXTURECEL™ 2000 P BA 07 is a low molecular weight, high-purity carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) powder that is naturally derived. It is used as a binder for graphite lithium-ion battery anodes.
TEXTURECEL™ 2000 P BA 07 is a low molecular weight sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) that contains significantly fewer gel impurities than many other commercially available CMC materials. A lower level of gel impurities in CMC binders used in anode coating formulations increases the overall energy density of batteries. Therefore, TEXTURECEL™ 2000 P BA 07 is an extremely effective CMC binder material to use in anode coating slurries for lithium-ion batteries.
When TEXTURECEL™ 2000 P BA 07 is used as a binder for graphite lithium-ion battery anodes, it can improve the specific discharge capacity of the battery during very high C-Rates, in turn enhancing charging speed. Lithium-ion batteries made with TEXTURECEL™ 2000 P BA 07 also see increased specific discharge capacity over multiple aging cycles, indicating that lithium-ion batteries made with TEXTURECEL™ 2000 P BA 07 CMC binders have longer battery life. TEXTURECEL™ 2000 P BA 07 has a degree of substitution of 0.7 and forms solutions with a viscosity of 1,900–2,800 mPa·s at 2 wt% addition to water.
