Overview
CoatOSil™ SE 620 is a silicone emulsion additive that meets or exceeds the performance of fluorosurfactants and PFAS-containing additives used to improve wetting, hydrophobicity, block resistance, and dirt pickup resistance. It is typically used to replace such additives in water-based coatings used in architectural and industrial applications. CoatOSil™ SE 620 also helps improve resistance to weathering and discoloration due to UV exposure because of its low amine content. In addition, CoatOSil™ SE 620 reduces the coefficient of friction and surfactant leaching and can even increase scuff and stain resistance. It may be added during the pigment grind or letdown stage to improve the overall durability of coating formulations. Easy-clean and self-cleaning interior and exterior architectural paints are the most common application for CoatOSil™ SE 620.
