SilForce™ SL6961 is the base polymer for a new solventless, thermal cure release coating system. The release coating system based on SilForce™ SL6961 is designed to exhibit excellent anchorage and curing performance on glassine and PE kraft paper. The fast curing property of release coating systems based on SL6961 allows for the release liner to run successfully on high speed dispensing machines without breaking the release matrix. This key feature allows for a significant increase in productivity while reducing cost. Release coatings based on SilForce™ SL6961 can be applied by any methods that are currently used to apply solventless and solventborne silicone including gravure and various other smooth roll configurations. Coatings based on SilForce™ SL6991 should be applied at a coating weight of 0.8-1.6 g/m² and heated immediately after application to initiate cure. Best results are achieved using zoned ovens with the first oven between 90-120°C to allow for leveling.
