Overview
Momentive Tospearl™ 145FL is a 4.5-micron size, spherical, micro-fine silicone resin used as an additive in biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film materials as a slip and anti-blocking agent. As a slip agent, it improves the Coefficient of Friction (COF) to facilitate easier processing and faster line speeds and prevents the polymer film from tearing.
Momentive Tospearl™ 145FL, when used as an anti-blocking agent, prevents adhesion by creating lubricity during film production both on a finished roll and on the inside of the bubble. Additionally, Tospearl™ 145FL silicone resin materials offer low surface energy, creating a faster and more seamless film-extrusion process. Furthermore, the small differences between the refractive indices of Tospearl™ 145FL silicone bead additives and the polyolefin resin can help yield higher transparency and clarity with high gloss.
