METHOCEL™ A4C is a medium molecular weight methylcellulose thickener. It yields a viscosity of 400 cP at 2% in water and is used to modify the rheology of coatings and adhesives.
METHOCEL™ A4C is a water-soluble, high purity, non-ionic cellulose ether, and performs as thickener, binder, and film former. METHOCEL™ A4C is thixotropic and provides precise modification of viscosity and rheology in water based formulations. METHOCEL™ A4C reversibly gels at temperatures above 55°C. Due to this it is an excellent at binding and improving green strength of ceramics prior to firing. Additionally, METHOCEL™ A4C has outstanding stability in both extremely acidic and alkaline systems.
