CharFlam^® is a range of non-halogenated compounds that promote char formation in intumescent flame retardant applications. As a family of halogen-free flame retardants, they were designed to provide thermal protection through the promotion of intumescence, smoke suppression, and fire resistance in a wide range of applications. Without the use of halogen or heavy metals, CharFlam^® flame retardants allow manufacturers to meet certain compliance and regulatory requirements. Through the formation of a protective char barrier, CharFlam^® prevents flame propagation and reduces heat release for industries requiring UL 94, LOI, or EN 13501 compliance.
