LUDOX® Grade Selector Guide

Lithium polysilicate is an aqueous solution of lithium oxide and silica featuring a silica to lithium oxide ratio of 4.8. It is commonly used as a concrete hardener and inorganic binder in coatings.

LUDOX^® AM is a colloidal silica modified to be stable over a wide pH range. It is used primarily as a binder, surface modifier, and flocculant.

LUDOX^® AS-30 is an ammonium-stabilized alkaline dispersion of amorphous silica. This colloidal silica is typically used as a binder in catalyst and high-temperature ceramic applications and as a cobinder and surface modifier in paints and coatings.

LUDOX^® HS-40 is an alkaline colloidal silica that offers a good balance between high binding strength and stability in coating and refractory applications.

LUDOX^® SM is an amorphous colloidal silica with a particle size of 7 nm. It is a highly temperature-stable binder used in coatings and refractories and as a pozzolanic additive for concrete densifiers.

LUDOX^® SM-AS is an ammonium stabilized colloidal silica with 7 nm particle size. It is used as a binder in applications that require extreme temperatures.
