Overview
Lupasol® FG is a branched polyethyleneimine polymer with a molecular weight of 800 g / mol. It is commercially available as a highly viscous, clear to slightly turbid liquid. Lupasol® FG is carries a high cationic charge density and works well as a cross linker for polymers that carry an anionic charge. Due to it's high charge density, Lupasol® FG adsorbs well onto negatively charged substrates and it is most commonly used to promote adhesion to paper, plastic, and metal surfaces. Lupasol® FG carries FDA CFR175.105 approval and can be used in lamination and sealing of food packaging materials.

Applications
Lupasol® FG is an excellent cross linker for anionic polymers and can be used to improve adhesion, durability, and moisture resistance of wood laminates, cement and bricks.
Due to it's FDA approval and it's ability to improve adhesion of ink and coatings to various substrates, Lupasol® FG is commonly used as an adhesion promoter or primer in heat seal coatings and printing inks for food packaging applications.
In water treatment applications, Lupasol® FG can be used in pretreatment to reversibly chelate heavy metals and make them easier to remove by ultrafiltration methods.
Lupasol® FG will also flocculate anionic particles such as proteins, silicates, and zeolites.
