Chevron Phillips Chemical Isooctane Pure (C8H18, Cas No. 540-84-1) is a high purity organic solvent with a standard 100 point on the octane rating scale. Isooctane Pure is also known as 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane and has the chemical formula (CH3)3CCH2CH(CH3)2.
Isooctane Pure is a critical component in gasoline production and helps increase knock resistance in the base fuel. Isooctane Pure is also used in applications that require a high-purity, low-contaminant solvent, such as pharmaceutical synthesis and manufacturing, refinery operations, laboratory extraction, and more.
