SYLOID® 72 FP is an advanced mesoporous silicon dioxide (CAS no. 7631-86-9) formulated by GRACE to provide a moderate pore volume, large internal surface area, and bulk density of 0.16 g/cc. SYLOID® 72 FP is a high-purity synthetic silica excipient with a moderate pore volume, renowned for its advanced performance and functionality in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and personal care applications. With an average particle size of 4.6─6.7 µm and a large surface area, this material offers excellent adsorption of up to 1.1 ml of liquid per gram and moisture protection properties with an affinity for organic-based liquids, controlling moisture transfer in humidity-sensitive applications and preventing reactions that negatively impact drugs or decrease shelf life. It is primarily used as a glidant and tableting aid in pharmaceuticals, as a carrier and rheology modifier for liquid products.
