TEXTURECEL™ 20000 GA 07 is a high purity sodium carboxymethyl cellulose polymer with a relatively high molecular weight. It has a lower degree of carboxy substitution than standard TEXTURECEL™ grades. It can be added directly to water using moderate agitation. When added to water at 2% it produces a clear solution with a viscosity of 20,000 cP. TEXTURECEL™ 20000 GA 07 is used as a gelling agent and thickener in leak resistant gel packs. It forms a firm gel that will not easily leak from a gel pack if breakage occurs. It does also have food contact approvals that make it particularly useful in cold packs for food. TEXTURECEL™ 20000 GA 07 is also used as rheology modifier in water-based coatings and adhesives. It provides good cling to surfaces, easy workability, and emulsion stabilization.
