ROYALTUF™ 498
ROYALTUF™ 498 is a maleic anhydride–grafted EPDM used for increasing the low-temperature impact resistance of polyamides. It is ideal for recycled polyamide compounds.
ROYALTUF™ 498 is a maleic anhydride–grafted EPDM impact modifier for polyamides. It imparts "super tough" properties to nylon when used at a 20% load rate. As a result of having an amorphous backbone, ROYALTUF™ 498 improves impact resistance when used at temperatures as low as −46°C.
Excellent impact resistance in nylon at temperatures as low as −46°C
Problems Solved
Poor strength or impact resistance of nylons or polyamide compounds at low or subzero temperatures Difficulties achieving the desired toughness of nylon compounds for use in low-temperature applications
Applications
Automotive Building and construction Consumer Electronics
