Kemamide® S, Pastille is a fatty amide supplied in pastille form that is derived from stearic acid.
Kemamide® S, Pastille fatty amide is saturated fatty primary monoamide derived from stearic acid. It shows exceptional stability to light and air and is resistant to dilute acids and bases. Kemamide® S fatty amide pastilles offer stability, anti-block, and mold-release benefits for plastics, adhesives, inks, petroleum wax, and more.
Kemamide® S fatty amide pastilles offer anti-block and high-melt properties. It serves as a lubricant and release agent in plastics, waxes, and rubber; an intermediate to mar-resistance agents, softeners, and water repellents for textiles; an emulsion stabilizer for cosmetics; a corrosion inhibitor for metal surfaces and aqueous systems; and a blending agent for waxes and resins.
Kemamide® S, Pastille improves the adherence of resins to glass fibers and is sometimes used to improve the peel strength of printing inks. Kemamide® S, Pastilles offer easier handling and ease of use while providing multi-functional benefits for plastics. Kemamide® S fatty amide is relatively insoluble at ambient temperatures in water and all common organic solvents. Some dissolution occurs in oxygenated organic solvents at high temperatures and under high-shear conditions, but crystallization occurs upon cooling.
