Krytox™ XHT-1000 Oil is a specially engineered PFPE-based oil (1,023 cSt at 40°C) for extreme high-temperature applications, up to 680°F.
Krytox™ XHT-1000 is a highly engineered perfluoropolyether (PFPE) based oil with low evaporation rates. This allows the XHT-1000 Oil to be extremely stable at varying temperatures, including extreme temperatures where other lubricants may degrade. Krytox™ XHT-1000 has a base oil viscosity of 1,023 cSt at 40°C and an estimated useful temperature range of −5°C to 360°C (23°F to 680°F) and provides longer-lasting lubrication performance. This PFPE oil is nonflammable and completely nonreactive, resulting in a longer-lasting lubricant, even for applications under incredibly harsh environments.
Krytox™ oils can easily coat metallic surfaces with little or no adverse effects due to their low surface tension and inertness. Testing metals at 300°C in the absence of air has shown little evidence of corrosion. In the presence of air, corrosion was slightly higher. The molybdenum in the metals improved corrosion resistance.
