BONDERITE^® S-AD 85 (previously known as RODINE 85) is a liquid, low-foam inhibitor for traditional acid-based metal pickling processes. This acid inhibitor additive can be used on a range of steel types and at any active acid concentration. BONDERITE^® S-AD 85 is effective in pickling and industrial cleaning processes for phosphoric and acetic acids and sulfamic, citric, oxalic, and sodium bisulfate solutions. The concentration needed to provide maximum protection will vary by metal type, temperature, and pickling process. Below are some general recommendations.

Pickling mild and low-carbon steels:
Temperatures <180°F: 0.125% to 0.5% vol
Temperatures >180°F: 0.25% to 0.5% vol

Pickling alloys and more reactive steels:
Temperatures <180°F: 0.3% to 0.5% vol

Industrial cleaning operations:
Ranges from 0.05% to 0.30% vol, regardless of acidic dilution used
