Elvacite™ BR-115 is a relatively low molecular weight acrylic resin used as a modifier for medium- and long-oil alkyd resins.
Elvacite™ BR-115 is a relatively low molecular weight acrylic resin supplied as solid, nondusting beads. It easily dissolves in solvents such as toluene, xylene, and mineral spirits, forming a clear solution with low viscosity. Elvacite™ BR-115 is primarily used as a modifier for medium- and long-oil alkyd resins, with which BR-115 has excellent compatibility. When BR-115 modifies these resins, faster solvent release, higher gloss, and better color retention are gained. It also has low reactivity with pigments, allowing for more visually robust paints and coatings.
