Elvacite™ TB-044 is a versatile acrylic bead resin with broad solubility used in coating, ink, and adhesive applications.
Elvacite™ TB-044 is a solid-bead acrylic resin with an intermediate glass transition temperature (Tg) and molecular weight compared to the rest of the Elvacite™ portfolio. It is optimized for forming films with good hardness and broad solubility in aliphatic and aromatic solvents, esters, glycol ethers, ketones, and alcohols. Elvacite™ TB-044 is mainly used in coating, ink, and adhesive applications. It forms solutions with relative ease, as it dissolves quickly. Films formed have a high degree of clarity and excellent resistance to moisture, weathering, abrasion, and attack from dilute acids and alkali. It is compatible with nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) resins, which can help increase solvent release rates. Elvacite™ TB-044 may also be used as a modifying resin for medium- and long-oil alkyd systems to reduce drying speed and improve hardness.
