SP-560 is a thermoplastic rosin-phenolic resin that is mainly used as a bio-based tackifier in various types of adhesive formulations
SP-560 is a bio-based tackifier that facilitates the bonding of adhesives to polar and non-polar substrates. SP-560 also provides improved surface wetting, high tackiness, high heat performance, and peel resistance. It lowers the viscosity, increases open time, and is suitable for color-sensitive applications.
SP-560 is also used in hot melt adhesives to provide stable operating viscosity even at high temperatures. It also provides a fast-setting to adhesive formulations with a high level of bond strength due to its narrow molecular range and high softening point.
Physical form: Solid flakes
Specific gravity: 1.10
Softening point (Ball and Ring): 140-160°C
Acid number, mg KOH/g: 50-70
Bio-based phenolic resin Strong green tack and improved adhesion High heat performance and peel resistance Suitable for color-sensitive applications Compatible with a wide variety of oils, waxes, and rubbers
Poor bonding of adhesives to polar or non-polar substrates
Hot melt adhesives
Pressure sensitive adhesives
Polychloroprene contact cement
Tackifier and processing aid in rubber compounding
