Tyzor® 9000 is a reactive alkoxy titanate that is used as a reaction catalyst for esterification reactions and as a cross linking agent in coatings.

Tyzor® 9000 is a 100% active, moisture sensitive alkoxy titanate. It is commonly used to cross link polymers that contain hydroxyl or carboxyl functionality. In coating applications this leads to increased hardness, heat resistance, and chemical resistance of cured films. Tyzor® 9000 is also used to form polymeric titanium dioxide films on surfaces. As a catalyst Tyzor® 9000 acts as a Lewis acid is well suited for esterification, condensation, and addition reactions. It eliminates by-products, increases yield, and is much lower in toxicity than other metal catalysts like Tin. This makes Tyzor® 9000 a good replacement for organostannanes and other hazardous metal catalysts used in phthalic acid / DEG polyol synthesis.
